These posters were displayed at the Iziko Museum, Cape Town for the International Oceans of Life Photographic Exhibition. The month-long exhibition was in support of BirdLife’s Annual Save Our Seabirds Festival at the V&A Waterfront. The posters highlight the threats faced by Seabirds, the festival’s main theme.
Given the photographic nature of the exhibition, we needed an attention grabbing visual solution that stood out from the rest. We went for a strong graphic approach with solid, bold colours and no photographic elements. Each poster focusses on 1 of the 3 major threats facing Seabirds, namely overfishing, pollution and habitat destruction.
The simple arresting visuals printed in A0, illustrated the scale of the problem and offered the reader a chance to get involved.
